This is not persistent, but the contents are immediately rerendered with the higher resolution. This is the expected behaviour. When I use a pinch zoom gesture, the last step - rerendering at current resolution - is omitted. As soon as I move the page around (cursor keys, mouse, touch), the contents are rerendered.
