I experience the same - Dolphin needs 1-2s to load on my 4Ghz Quad Core
equipped with an SSD - and this is not caused by I/O, as subsequent starts are
also slow.
Other file managers open almost instantly, I hope Dolphin can be brought to the
same speed. Unbelievable Dolphin was once promoted as light-weight alternative
to konqueror,
