Info: When using applications (e.g. VLC, VirtualBox) menu to browse files and
selecting the "Samba Shares" folder the application crashes after about 1
second. This happens on my desktop and notebook as well.

Steps to reproduce, example in VLC:
1. Open VLC Media Player
2. Select "Media" -> "Open file"
3. Select "Network"
4. Select "Samba Shares"
--> Application crashes.

Error Message (from VLC):
[user@host ~]$ vlc
