The problem described by this report might be caused by a bug in Qt, not a bug in KDE. I found a Qt bug that might be the culprit, and this bug was fixed in 5.8. Jugding from Comment 3, you are not affected any more. It would be interesting to know if anyone with Qt 5.8 or later is affected.
