This is a GTK3 bug, I believe. Without said bug, the SSD should work properly, instead of being buggy and weird. However, for MyPaint and such, because SSDs are being requested, KWin should be providing SSD. When it requests CSD, leaving it undecorated is the right thing to do, however, as you explained. This bug is weirder than the first one, because I'm not so sure it's a GTK3 bug.
