Same problem here. Cameras work and records video, but Kamoso is just a black
screen. Pictures are visible for a fraction of a second after they taken as
they are shrunken from the main screen area down to the bottom right during the
save animation.

VLC is able to show video from both capture devices (/dev/video0 and
/dev/video1), so it's definitely a Kamoso (or Qt5) issue.

Package: kamoso 3.2.4-0neon+16.04+xenial+build5 amd64
KDE neon User Edition 5.11 (based on Ubuntu Xenial)
Plasma: 5.11.5
KDE Frameworks: 5.42.0
Qt: 5.9.3

Front and Rear Cameras:
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 04ca:7027 Lite-On Technology Corp.
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 04ca:7028 Lite-On Technology Corp.

Console output:
$ kamoso
