It might be that this issue is already fixed in Kile version 2.9.91/2.9.92
Unfortunately, I cannot easily test it. I installed Kile from
https://launchpad.net/~kile/+archive/ubuntu/master
This repo offers Kile version 2.9.92 for artful and zesty but not for xenial,
which is the ubuntu basis for kde neon
