Hi,
it looks like I'm encountering the same issue here.
I just installed Kubuntu 15.04, which came with Dolphin 14.12.3 and Kate 5.0.0
(with KDE Frameworks 5.9.0). In order to reproduce what I see:
1) Create a Network folder in Dolphin. From there, I'm correctly able to access
the remote location and open/edit the files located there
2) Open Kate and try to access an already existing file (e.g., with Ctrl+O)
3) Under the "Network" part of the menu that appears, I can't see the folder
created with Dolphin at point #1
>From the brief exchange here above, this looks kind of expected. However, it is
not clear to me if there is any hope to have this fixed at some point and/or if
a workaround exists, for the time being.
