Same issue here on Android 8.0 with Huawei Mate 10 Pro. It makes no difference
between send via kdeconnect on Plasma, or send via cli like this:
kdeconnect-cli -d 56d6255284028542 --send-sms %t --destination +%N
My wife's phone is also an Huawei (P8 Light with Android 6.0), and there is the
same problem.
I'am using here KDE-Neon Useredit with kdeconnect 1.2 and on Android 1.6.6.
