1. Duplicate a layer
2. Apply "layer>transform>mirror layer horizontally" to the duplicated layer
3. Try to apply any filter on it (blur or HSV adjustment for example), the
filter won't have any effect.
note: The same is also true for "mirror layer vertically" but the filter will
actually work on the top half of the layer for some reason.
