Open source is stricter than commercial software as we know because of fewer developers who have their own worries. IMO, Single window mode isn't a breaking thing, but a feature who users can decide to use or not. So, it's no useless luxury I suggest, but rather Ergonomy. So, I didn't choose randomly.
