I usually don't have time to watch videos, I much prefer a test file and a set
of clear steps to reproduce the issue... But the reason the blending mode of
the merged set of layers is set to Normal is that the bottom-most of the merged
layers has the Normal blending mode; and that's the blending mode that's
selected for the merged result. This is consistent with other applications, so
it's not a bug in Krita.
