To test that, I used a directory that was large enough to see the difference but small enough to also know if that is what it is doing. I used one that is about 1.6GBs. After a few hours, it was well past what would be needed to load the wallpapers in memory plus what plasmashell usually uses by almost 1GB. If it is loading the wallpapers into memory, it is also doing something else with memory as well. I'm not sure what. Also, while on this slideshow topic. Is there a way to tell it not to randomize the images? I have a lot of images that are designed to be shown as a slideshow but not in random order. They are made to be shown in sequence.
