I understand, but nevertheless: when I start plasma 5.11 changing workspaces is without any animation. Alt-shift-f12 activates it. I was used to have this feature activated by starting plasma. I do not understand, what could have changed. I updated my Neon from 5.10.5 to 5.11 and from the first start this new behaviour appeared. On my notebook everything went fine, by the way.
