What can I do to help confirm this?
If I do a diff by hand AND strip out any lines that begin with "Binary files"
or "Only in", and then pass the diff through to kompare, the error message goes
away.
The other positive side-effect of stripping out those two diff messages is that
Bug 347760 (which reappears whenever this message also appears) goes away, and
you can actually apply the diff to the destination.
