The 24118A is part of the Conexant DVB-S2 chipset: cx24118/cx24120. Both are controlled by the same frontend driver. With regards to the problems you're reporting, based on those "cannot open" log messages, it seems that either you're lacking permissions to access a subdir on your home directory (chown -R your_user:your_group /home/your_user would fix), or your home partition is full.
