Workaround that closes kdenlive.exe under Windows
I'm also having this issue with kdenlive-17.04.3. In order to cope this issue,
I did a vbscript that kills kdenlive before starting it. When the user closes
kdenlive, it will be killed as well.
I know it is not a solution, but it works until the developers come with a
solution.
