I just tried to reproduce the issue on a current KDE neon but was unable to do
so.
What I did:
1) put some PDF file under a path like yours:
'$HOME/Programación/Coursera/book_272_es4.pdf'
2) Open the directory in Dolphin (KDE's file manager)
3) Open the PDF file by double-clicking on it.
For me, the file opened fine and was displayed in Okular as expected.
I am not sure whether the steps I took are exactly the same ones that
you took.
Can you possibly give some more information about that?
Are you also using Dolphin (KDE's file manager) or possibly another file
manager?
What distribution and what version are you using?
What is the output of the command 'locale'?
