Hugo, you should be able to just delete the
XdgShellV5 {

}
part, since the clients can run fine on just wl_shell.
If it's still broken, there's a minimal qml compositor for the tech preview
(5.7) API here: http://blog.qt.io/blog/2016/06/13/new-compositor-api-qtwayland/
