Bug ID: 381295 Summary: Move Show Desktop widget to core and out of plasma-addons, and add it to the panel by default Product: plasmashell Version: 5.9.4 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk Reporter: pointedst...@zoho.com CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 A common request (e.g. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=354240 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=171375) is to have the show desktop widget in the default bottom panel layout, which will improve usability for new users--especially Windows refugees. However, this isn't currently possible because the Show Desktop widget is in a separate package (usually named something like plasma-addons) that may not always be included in every distro. I propose that the Show Desktop widget be moved out of this separate package and into the core packages so that it is always included by default--and then we put it in the panel by default. for new installations. This should be a welcome change for new users, and experienced users who *don't* want it won't get it because they'll have already customized their panel. If people agree, I'll be happy to do the work, if I can get a little bit of guidance and relevant documentation. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
