Using the 17.04 version cantor.
Way to reproduce:
1. In arch linux, install cantor, sagemath, maxima, r.
2. Start cantor, choose any one of the sage, maxima, or r sessions.
3. Initializing takes forever.
4. When clicking cancel while initializing, the corresponding help menus
(Show Sage Help, Show Maxima Help, Show R help) appear normally and usable. The
session, however, is blank, without cursor etc.
