This is a well-known issue that we cannot fix, as it is related to Qt. A search
here or in the forum reveals a workaround:
1. do *not* maximize the Kdenlive window; "normalize" it temporarily.
2. Resize the Kdenlive window to its maximum, but don't use maximize.
3. Load your layout.
4. Quit Kdenlive.
5. Reload Kdenlive, the layout should now stick and the window be maximized.
