Auto Hide Panel Frozen by Plasma Error Message

Reproducibility: Always
To reproduce:
Under More Settings, set Visibility to "Auto Hide".
Do something that causes a Plasma error message to be shown (e.g. create and
open a new file, delete the file, then search for the deleted file in the
Application Launcher and click the result).

Expected:
The error message window is displayed as usual, the panel hides itself and
continues to work as normal.

Actual:
See screencap - the error message window is shown in the panel but is not
displayed, and the panel freezes completely, making it unusable. Program
windows that are already active continue to work, but it is impossible to
access any other programs or anything else from the panel.
