Sooooo that's the reason why i get "cut off" notifications sounds even after i
disabled them. After switching to phonon gstreamer its fine.

Set "phonon-backend-gstreamer" as the prefer one, move it on top of phonon vlc.


My question is why not use "GStreamer Phonon backend" as default? and avoid
this. For what i can tell GStreamer Phonon backend has more dependencies but
that can't be the only reason.
