Instead, on wayland, the alpha channel should be forced on the native handle (with or without private headers). I don't know the reason yet but, at least for now, wayland isn't happy with WA_TranslucentBackground. The problem discussed here still exists with KFileDialog menus - and only with them -- on wayland but, fortunately, there's no freeze anymore; the items of those menus can't be selected when menu translucency is enabled by forcing alpha channel.
