Furthermore, I don't need to put LibreOffice on the secondary screen or even have two screens. The pattern is this: In LibreOffice Writer, only every *other* Ctrl+C puts the selected text on the clipboard. So it works exactly half the time, in a regular pattern of working and then not working. Even without the text being successfully on the system clipboard, pasting it back into the same window works.
