Bug ID: 524599
Summary: Scan source dropdown truncates entries so the word
"Duplex" is not visible, making the duplex option
appear to be missing
Classification: Applications
Product: Skanpage
Version First 26.04.3
Reported In:
Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
In the "Scanner settings" quick-access sidebar, the "Scan source" dropdown is
rendered at a fixed, fairly narrow width. With a scanner offering separate ADF
front/back/duplex sources (e.g. Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500), the three entries get
elided to "Automatisch...", "Automatische...", "Dokumentene...". The actual
values (confirmed via AT-SPI) are "Automatischer Dokumenteneinzug vorne",
"...hinten", and "Dokumenteneinzug mit Duplex" — exactly the distinguishing
word "Duplex" gets cut off, in both the closed box and the open popup. Users
can easily conclude duplex scanning has disappeared, even though it's present,
enabled, and works correctly once selected.
Steps to Reproduce: Connect a scanner with distinct ADF Front/Back/Duplex
sources → open Skanpage's scanner settings sidebar → look at the Scanquelle
combo box, closed and open.
Expected: Combo box/popup shouldn't truncate the crucial part of long labels —
middle-ellipsis, a wider popup, hover tooltip, or a wider sidebar.
Environment: Skanpage 26.04.3 (Flatpak/Flathub), KDE Frameworks 6.27.0, Qt
6.10.3, runtime 6.11; Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 (fujitsu SANE backend)
Notes: Purely a discoverability/truncation bug — duplex scanning itself works
fine once the right entry is picked. Widening the main window doesn't widen the
sidebar; no hover tooltip appears.
