I tried this with multiple different wallpapers and it is still the same result every single time. I even tried deleting the old wallpaper it keeps forcing me back to and guess what? It just brings it back from the grave then swaps me back to it!!! I know this is Arch so KDE can get very buggy but regardless I wanted to submit a report about this just to make everyone aware.
