The only way to preserve those design reasons would be to introduce many other font settings: "Clock text size", "Heading text size", "Calendar grid text size", and so on. But this level of configurability just isn't really practical. So if the options are: 1. Introduce granular sizes for every element where we want to use a non-default size 2 Get rid of design flexibility to use a different font size when it's deemed practical or aesthetically pleasing 3. Do nothing I think 3 is the only practical choice here.
