When I push the suspend button on the keyboard or use it from the menu, my
system obviously suspends.
However, when I wake up the system, and unlock, I am usually greeted with any
windows that weren't minimized, and a working Karousel, but the rest of the
desktop is missing/broken. No background, no taskbar, no widgets, nothing. If I
press the super key I can bring up the menu, and I have a desktop shortcut to
restart plasma (below).

If I disable Karousel, I have not been able to reproduce this issue, so it has
something to do with either Karousel or KWin.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install & enable Karousel
2. Suspend through a key or through the menu, wait a few seconds
3. Wake the desktop through a key or mouse activity
4. Login.
5. If desktop appears as normal (it sometimes does), go back to 2.
OBSERVED RESULT
Desktop will be black with no wallpaper. No widgets will appear including the
taskbar. Plasma keybinds still work (so you can open the menu with super) and
already open windows are present. Karousel is still tiling.
EXPECTED RESULT
Desktop opens fully functional as normal. Wallpaper is visible. Taskbars and
other widgets are working. Or at the very least I would get some sort of crash
report.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This laptop is very weak (dual core) and this was observed using an external
monitor. It might occur without the monitor, but I haven't tested.
I would be willing to do more to investigate the system but I'm not sure where
to look. Please let me know if I should be reporting to NixOS.
