What I can say is that the monitor settings aren't saved between sessions and
they start with the HDMI one on the left at 0,0 and the DVI one on the right at
1080,0

I have to set it back every time, and no matter how I fiddle with it it won't
work properly unless I put the DVI monitor on 0 on the y axis.

I assume that's the expected behaviour. I hope this helps you resolve the
multi-screen issue a bit more.
