I have the same problem. Before the latest update I had no problems using two
external displays on my laptop, with my laptop display turned off. I'm also
using NVIDIA drivers, supplied by openSUSE repositories.

Before the update I could use both the KDE System Settings/Display and
Monitor/Display Configuration and the NVIDIA nvidia-settings to configure the
display layout. After the update, none of these work.

Using the method mentioned above (running systemssettings5 as sudo) I managed
to get back to something that enabled me to at least work, before this all
displays where just black when booting up. But it feels very unstable. For
example, I cannot turn off my laptop display and only use the two external
displays.

I have Gnome 3 and LXDE installed, using both Gnome 3 and LXDE I can configure
the displays the way I want.
