            Bug ID: 375795
Summary: "--use" shall be restored or a way to reuse existing
                    session.
           Product: kate
           Version: 16.08
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: application
          Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: charles.gorand....@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

In previous version of Kate, kate accept -u or --use switch to force kate reuse
running kate's session.

In this version (16.08.3), it's has been removed.

Is it possible to restore this switch
-Or-
Is it possible to add a configuration menu that force kate to reuse existing
session when invoked from command line.

I use multiple virtual desktop and Kate is running on 1 desktop. It's usefull
to invoke kate from command line and all the files are opened in the same Kate
instance.

I know I can use an alias with "kate -s mysessionname myfile.txt" but this
would be a nice way to do it without extra command line switch.
