SUMMARY

When you use the KMyMoney file backup option:
File -> Backup...

It creates a backup file with a name of your account with a date string
appended, for example:
  my_accounts-2026-02-09.kmy
These backup file names are not "reused" by KMyMoney.

This is different to the "backups" that can be created using the KMyMoney
settings options:
Settings -> Configure KMyMoney... -> General -> Global -> "Backup Options"
where you can specific a number of backup files to keep with a (by default)
".kmy.X~" (where X is a number) file extension, for example:
  my_accounts.kmy.1~
  my_accounts.kmy.2~
These ".kmy.X~" backup files get periodically reused as "normal" KMyMoney file
saves occur.

If for example you are importing data into KMyMoney using QIF files you will
often have a number of files to import for data integrity. It is useful to
create KMyMoney database file saves as you go along. Whilst you can do this
outside KMyMoney by copying the .kmy file, it would be nice to be able to use
the "File -> Backup..." option. This is not currently possible as the backup
file name only contains the date string, and not the time string (or another
additional unique modifier), to allow multiple backup files to be created on
the same day.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a KMyMoney backup file using "File -> Backup..."
2. On the same day created a second KMyMoney backup file using "File ->
Backup..."

OBSERVED RESULT
When creating the second backup file the only option you have is to overwrite
the first backup file.

EXPECTED RESULT
The first and second backup file created on the same date should have unique
names, for example adding the backup time as part of the backup file names.
