Bug ID: 516784
Summary: Kscreen-Doctor "--dpms-excluded" option no longer
works after upgrade to KDE Plasma 6.6.0
Classification: Plasma
Product: KScreen
Version First 6.6.0
Reported In:
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: kscreen-doctor
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
On 6.5.x and earlier, a script I set up to protect my OLED display while
keeping my other displays active worked fine, so long as I included the
displays to be left on with the "--dpms-excluded" option. Following the update
to Plasma 6.6.0 (and continuing onto 6.6.1) the "--dpms-excluded" option no
longer seems to work. Output names have not changed, and attempting alternate
identifiers for the screens have achieved no results. Since the update, using
the "-d off" option works exactly the same way with or without the
"--dpms-excluded" option, regardless of what is put after the "--dpms-excluded"
option.
Prior to the update, "kscreen-doctor -d off --dpms-excluded DP-2
--dpms-excluded DP-1" would turn off only my display at DP-3. now, it turns off
all three.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run command "kscreen-doctor -d off --dpms-excluded DP-2 --dpms-excluded
DP-1"
OBSERVED RESULT
All three monitors turn off.
EXPECTED RESULT
Only the monitor connected to DP-3 should turn off.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Ultramarine Linux 43 (Plasma Edition) x86_64

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Using Wayland, on a AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT. All displays are connected through
the main GPU, via Displayport.
