I tried to report several times but stopped in the middle. Result - bugs still
there years later.
YOU HAVE MADE EVERYTHING TO COMPLICATE THE BUG REPORTS...backtrace...backtrace?
I never seen any other editor which does not like to fix stuff. Not surprising
bugs are not reported and not fixed for years.

SUMMARY
Fortran source text corruption in Fortran
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
It is hard to reproduce, the results are not reproduceable. Happens not every
time, and something different is corrupted
1. Take any large Fortran file 100k lines or more
2. Edit something at the beginning, in the middle and the end
3. Do the Searches and Substitutes and at the end close the file. Make a
line-by-line comparison of two files (best of all use Double Commander app for
that) before and after the save.
OBSERVED RESULT
Usually corruption is not random, Kate adds previously used words you typed or
used in Searches and randomly plants them inside the whole text.
One or few corruptions may take place. In 2 years older versions of Kate/Linux
Mint the corruptions were like a total disaster in every case you edit
something and corrupted were many places. Right now corruption happens around
ones per 5 edits
THIS MAKES THIS EDITOR "UNIQUE" BECAUSE NO OTHER EDITOR had such deadly bug. It
may kill your decades of work planting the bug you will never find. It looks
very powerful and appealing but IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO USE IT.
EXPECTED RESULT
Temporally before you fix the bug, KATE needs to implement an option to save
not just one previous edition backup file but more (5 ot 10) so that you will
be able to trace the planted bugs before it is too late to fix anything in your
source code without losing months of work.
