Bug ID: 516606
Summary: Does not find device (do I need to allow more ports?)
Classification: Applications
Product: kdeconnect
Version First 25.04.2
Reported In:
Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: android-application
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
Sometimes I can connect the computer with the Android device and share files.
But often they don't each other. I allowed ports 1714-1764. If more ports are
needed that weren't needed in earlier versions: why and which do I need to
allow? Maybe make it possible to specify the port. I'm using the nftables
firewall.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start KDE Connect on Android device and Debian computer
2. Try to connect with the ports above allowed in nftables firewall
OBSERVED RESULT
Sometimes it works after some short waiting. Sometimes it doesn't, even after
refreshing many times, restarting the apps, and waiting long.
EXPECTED RESULT
Should always work. And for security one should not require many ports to be
opened.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian 13
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.6
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.13.0
Qt Version: 6.8.2
