            Bug ID: 375423
           Summary: folderview applet and icon applet and interaction with
                    Latte-Dock panel
           Product: plasmashell
           Version: 5.8.95
          Platform: openSUSE RPMs
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Icon Applet
          Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
          Reporter: ivan.m...@fastwebnet.it
  Target Milestone: 1.0

is a long time since I was hoping that someone develop a semantic dock bar for
Plasma, that could include launchers and folerview, well, this project has
become reality with "https://github.com/psifidotos/Latte-Dock";
Now, however, I encountered a problem that the developers of the plugin
"Latte-dock", can not meet because according to them is not dependent from
Latte-dock, but by the plasma or by the folderview.

Well I come to the point
The dock panel, contains a plasmoid with its tasks and launchers ... in this
case, the scaling of their icons works very well even if a bit blurred
...outside the plasmoid, but still inside the dock panel we can add other
plasmoids such example applet-folde-view, applet-icons and other applets like
weather, plasmatube etc.
in these cases, however, the scaling of the icons work well until Latte-dock's
icons resolution is set to 64pixel, but as soon as, I try to change it to other
setting (eg 48 pixels) the scaling appears not smooth !!!!

plugin=org.kde.plasma.icon ... applet no smooth scaling
plugin=org.kde.plasma.folder... applet no smooth scaling

here's a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtdWR8pXHto

It would be a pitty to have a such plasma dock that does not perform to 100% of
its possibilities.
can you do something to reach out to the developers efforts ?

they say:...
   "This is not a bug, and I doubt it will be fixed. Because the icons scale
with standard sizes, 32, 48, 64 etc. These are done on purpose by plasma. In
addition, the plasma icons use integer values for sizes, Latte uses floating
point values, therefore the effect is more smooth with Latte plasmoid."

I add, if I may ..is it possible, make available to the developers, the
individual elements of a folder view to allow them to interact with it?, is
also possible add an option to allow the application execution with a single
click instead of the double click ?

if you are willing to contribute to the improvement of the project please let
contact the developers on
"https://github.com/psifidotos/Latte-Dock";

Big thanks to all the Plasma team
