Just to pile up, this bug, and the one that randomly replaces all the accentuated characters in the whole response are 2 of the most infamous long-standing bugs in kmail. Infamous because this directly affects other users, and either makes the app very slow, or just makes the text unreadable. Apart from those 2 bugs (the mail getting duplicated has been fixed a few years back now), I disagree with the fact that kmail is dead. It's very much alive and very, VERY useful.
