Screenshot of htop during the copy job
SUMMARY
While I was copying roughly 2000 24 Megapixel JPEGs and RAWs from a CF-Card to
the local SSD.
the system slowed down so much, that I could no longer interact with Plasma's
panel.
htop showed up to 16 processes of kioworker generating thumbnails, while up to
~5 workers had relatively high CPU usage. Please see the screenshot.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Dolphin
2. Split view: Source folder on the CF-Card (connected via USB 3.0),
destination folder in home directory (btrfs, ssd)
3. Previews enabled
4. Copy/Move files from A to B
OBSERVED RESULT
The system becomes pretty unusable during the copy job.
EXPECTED RESULT
The system stays responsive
