One of the biggest issues is that it doesn't just happen while editing; it also happens when exporting, which can ruin everything. Here's a somewhat exaggerated example of what I mean, compared to DaVinci Resolve. Sometimes it's partially fixed by using an effect called Audio Seam or something like that, but it doesn't always work.
