I tried to find something about this on the web, but as I found nothing, I reported this as a bug. I started testing with virtual machines. When I had installed a fresh system with Plasma 6, I checked if the bug with login was present: the login screen worked correctly. Then I installed an older version with Plasma 5.27 (the version I had before upgrading to Plasma 6), and after performing an update to Plasma 6 the bug was present. That shows the bug was present because of the transition to the newer version. No .pacnew or .pacsave showed up, or I must have missed it.
