There are no problems with displaying the image on an external monitor via HDMI or DisplayPort. The issue is limited to severe input lag and an overall drop in performance, as described here: https://github.com/NVIDIA/open-gpu-kernel-modules/issues/650 Using prime-run does not have any effect on this behavior.
