Bug ID: 514077
Summary: Handle playing folders from outside (contect menu,
drag & drop)
Classification: Applications
Product: Elisa
Version First 25.12.0
Reported In:
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
I realize Elisa is built around the modern concept of an indexed music library
where playing directly from the file system may be viewed as less significant.
However as file -> right click -> "open with" is supported for one or multiple
files (as well as dropping files into the player), what remains missing is the
ability to perform these same actions with folders.
Currently, if a user attempts to 'Open with Elisa' on a directory or drags a
folder into the interface, the application does not parse the contents. This
creates a functional gap where users cannot start the music from a file manager
spontaneously nor can they test-listen to an artist from a folder that is not
indexed without manually entering each folder's contents.
I may be an old fart, but I do like to just right click on an artist's folder
in Dolphin and play all the albums within. :)
Thanks for your effort!
