Would it be very hard to change the implementation and apply the expansion/collapse only to the folders hanging from the one you clicked? If someone wants to expand collapse/all, they could just do it by clicking on the top folder. I've got a huge folder structure in my mail, so I'd never want to expand all of the folders at once.
