Perhaps we can change the label to say "no animations". Let's use the bug
report to track that.

There being no easy method to disable shadows I'm afraid is intentional. The
shadows are a part of the intended visual design.

Got it. I can confirm that. It's definitely an unintentional side effect of
disabling animations, and probably easily fixable.
