            Bug ID: 513126
Summary: Space between screens when connecting a previously
plugged screen: can't move mouse to the other monitor
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: KScreen
      Version First 6.5.3
       Reported In:
          Platform: NixOS
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: common

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

When I plug on my laptop a screen that I already plugged in the past (like
right now I plugged my screen, I unplug it, went away (sleep mode), woke up and
plugged again), there is sometimes a gap between the two screens in geometry
(the coordinates of one screen do not start where the coordinates of the
previous screen end). This is really annoying since the mouse cannot move
between the two screens, except if I move it really quickly (I guess if the
speed is high enough, the coordinate after the next refresh is on the next
screen instead of between the two screens). If I go to the screen settings,
I've an error message saying that it is not allowed to have space between the
two screens, and I can manually edit that… but it is really annoying since
often the mouse is trapped on a screen with no access to the configuration, and
changing the config with the keyboard is close to impossible! Also, I don't
understand why it does not just pick the same position as before…

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

This is not 100% reproducible, but here is what I basically do when this
happens:

1. Plug a screen to a laptop. Configure it so that the screen is, e.g., left to
internal screen.
2. Unplug it, go to sleep mode (not sure if needed), and plug again.

OBSERVED RESULT

See that sometimes you get an extra space between the two monitors that forbid
the mouse from traveling between screens.

EXPECTED RESULT

No space, mouse should just move freely between screens.
