Did not succeed unfreezing mouse trying to use KWin Kill Window shortcut (Mac keyboard Control + Option + Escape). When the app was functioning prior to successful message send, the upper left and lower right (I think) parts of the screen were flashing about once per second. When trying to type a message (This is a test. Previously frozen Linux) there was a very significant screen lag / time delay between keyboard entry and the characters showing up on the screen) - maybe 10 seconds?? Responsiveness was VERY SLOW but apparently the app did function and send a message.
