If it is, it would be great if both, KDE and distributions would communicate this minimum requirement somewhere. For me the "i386" name of e.g. the Kubuntu ISO does not suggest, that SSE2 is required. Also it would be great, if minimum hardware requirements would be checked early, giving some useful error message, if not fulfilled.
