Bug ID: 512162
Summary: Split window can't be activated / focused by a mouse
click when a specific location is set for the startup
of Dolphin
Classification: Applications
Product: dolphin
Version First unspecified
Reported In:
Platform: EndeavourOS
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: split view
Assignee: [email protected]

Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
Split window can't be activated / focused by a mouse click when a specific
location is set for the startup of Dolphin.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start Dolphin
2. Open "Configure Dolphin..." and enable "New Windows: Begin in split view
mode" and
3. Set "Show on startup:" to a specific location (e. g. /home/username/)
3. Close Dolphin
4. Start Dolphin
OBSERVED RESULT
Focusing a specific split window by clicking with the mouse won't actually
focus that half.
Also, when browsing through folders via the Places panel (e. g. Desktop;
Documents; Downloads; Pictures, etc.), one folder first opens on the right
split window, then on the left, then on the right again, and so on.
Focusing by mouse click only works after entering a folder through one of the
split windows or by using Tab as a shortcut to switch between windows.
If "Show on startup:" is set to "Folders, tabs, and windows from last time",
activating a split window works as expected.
EXPECTED RESULT
Activating a split window by clicking with the mouse should always behave the
same (= actually work), independent of the "Show on startup:" setting.
